What is the difference between H7 and H7U bulbs?

The U stands for NOT Ultraviolet sensitive. Standard H bulbs will yellow some headlight material covers because of high amounts of ultraviolet lift they emit. “U” bulbs have minimum ultraviolet light, protecting certain bulb covers from degrading.

What is H7U bulb?

H7U means the bulb is NOT ultra violet sensitive, therefore it is suitable for use in Parabollic Plastic Reflectors as fitted to the later Astra’s Ordinary H7 halogen bulbs can cause yellowing to some plastic reflectors as experienced in Ford Mondeos.
