What is a cr189?

CR 189 is the registration of your conditional residence status, which if it follows the filing of I-751, and it is approved you be granted unconditional resident status.

What is form OS155a?

OS155a is an “Immigrant Visa packet”. This is given to those people whose green card was approved in a consular processing abroad.

Does I-751 require an interview?

As a matter of law, a conditional resident and spouse must appear for an in-person interview after filing Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. But U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) may waive this requirement in some cases.

What happens after I-751 interview?

Within three weeks from submitting your I-751, you will receive a receipt by mail. This receipt will confirm the USCIS has received your form and has begun normal processing. This receipt is called Form I-797 – Notice of Action. You can get these from your regional USCIS office.

What is IVF or OS155A?

If you are entering the US on an immigrant visa, USCIS will mail your Green Card to the mailing address in the United states that you provided at the time of your immigrant visa interview or when you entered the USA. The Form Number used for an address change on a USCIS Immigrant Fee payment is “IVF” or “OS155A”.

What is CRI89 USCIS?

Also CRI89 and I-751 are the same form. I don’t know why USCIS still refers to it as CRI89. My case status profile (I still have all the cases that we filed) list the I-751 as CRI89.

Can I work while my i-751 is pending?

If, however, your I-751 is still pending at USCIS and you need to show your status for work or travel purposes, you will need to get a stamp from a local USCIS office to use as proof of your continued authorization. This is what’s called an I-551 stamp, and it goes in your passport.

What happens if I miss my i-751 interview?

If you have not yet received a Notice to Appear, you can refile Form I-751 with any deficiencies corrected, and hope that it will be approved with no court appearance necessary. If you receive one, however, you will have to defend yourself in court and risk deportation if the court rejects your arguments.

Can I denied I-751 without interview?

In order to grant a waiver, USCIS must decide, upon review of the case file, that it has received enough evidence with which to approve the immigrant’s joint petition to remove the conditions on residence (Form I-751) without conducting an interview and meeting the couple personally.

Can I reschedule my i-751 interview?

To reschedule your interview, you will have to go directly to a USCIS office and speak to an immigration officer and explain your difficulty. If not, you may send a letter to the immigration officer, if you feel that you may not be able to appear for the interview.

Can EAD card be forwarded?

USPS mail forwarding does not work. USCIS will send your EAD card to old address if you change your mailing address after the EAD approval. Make sure that you change your address online before the application status changes to ‘new card is being produced’ or ‘Card sent for production’.
